What is IRC?
Internet Relay Chat. It's a chat app, but old school and non-corporate. It's existed since 1988, before the world-wide web even existed.
Why IRC?
IRC is battle-hardened. It was used in the early 90s by queer folks to connect and have secure conversations. Many security tools for IRC were written by gay teens in 90s to protect their channels. It's a part of our culture.
Why should I join?
Join to connect with other trans peers in the Twin Cities, in an independent online forum. Embrace 90's and Y2K queer culture by embracing the tools of your ancestors.
How do I join?
UNDER CONSTRUCTION - stay tuned
Is it safe?
Yes. This is a strict invite-only, moderated space with a Code of Conduct.
Where is it hosted?
When you connect to IRC, you connect to a server. Our server is hosted in the Twin Cities independently. There is no corporate or cloud host at all.
